Text message service
The text message service is a new feature being offered at the existing meeting point. The service makes it easy for people to find one another. Alongside messages, the screen also shows adverts.
How does it work?
The text message service is easy to use. People who come to the airport to pick someone up can create an SMS using the following standard format: SMS: meet + friend’s name, and then send it to 5030. After the message has been checked it will appear on the large screen. The sender receives a message back to confirm placement of their SMS.
Notes
Until now, communication between passengers and people picking them up has always been via notes left at the meeting point. This old meeting point will now be replaced with a station containing four screens on which the SMS messages are projected for a certain fixed amount of time.
Alongside SMS messages, people will also still have the option of leaving notes at the meeting point.
