Your Office is where your laptop is
In the past, business travel often meant having to weigh up productivity against mobility. Not any more. At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol your office is where your laptop is. With the wireless Internet service (Wireless LAN), there is no longer any need for you to find a telephone or LAN socket to access the Internet or your corporate network. You go online when you want, where you want.
To be able to use the wireless service you will need a laptop or PDA with internal or external Wi-Fi card. The wireless service is based on the Wi-FiTM standard that is applied on a large scale of leading computer and network manufacturers.
Wireless Internet is simple to use: you turn your laptop or PDA on, open your Internet browser and simply follow the directions on the screen. Access to the wireless internet can be gained in a paid service online through the Wi-Fi login page or you can purchase an access code in the Communication Centre or at one of the pay points in the communication zones. If you use our service through one of our roaming partners you can log in on credential basis.
For support in using the mentioned services you are welcome 7 days a week from 06:00am until 10:00pm to contact the helpdesk in the Communication Centre. During business hours you can also contact the helpdesk at +31 (0) 20 794 0500.
Roaming
KPN HotSpots supplies, in cooperation with Schiphol Airport the Internet and communication services for passengers and strives for services with high quality for as many passengers as possible.
KPN HotSpots has a number of other HotSpots providers and made with those providers agreements so that their customers can use the Internet at Schiphol Airport. (This is also called “roaming”.) The customers can log in using their own account and are billed through their own provider.
Intel Certified
Intel® Centrino- mobile technology verified Wireless Communication Zones
To enhance your wireless LAN experience and enable interoperability, the Wireless LAN network at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport was tested by KPN HotSpots and Intel.
The network passed the test and the Wireless LAN zones at Schiphol are now officially Intel® Centrino-mobile technology verified.
Security Tip
When accessing the Internet at public HotSpots, make sure you understand your company's security policies. You should be aware of the fact that you have no security protection for communications to and from your corporate network until you have set up a VPN session. We therefore recommend that you set up a VPN session immediately after establishing your wireless connection and logging onto the wireless network. You will then have more secure access to resources on your corporate network and the Internet.
