First time ever: an ice rink at Schiphol!

Once again, Schiphol Media has created a unique media experience at the airport: this time it’s a real ice rink! Everybody is welcome to come ice skating with us. SkyRadio, our main sponsor, is taking care of the background music to ensure an even more enjoyable atmosphere.

The much-loved Dutch figure Sinterklaas officially opened the ice rink on December the 2nd. Then he invited a group of young children from a junior school in the neighbourhood to try out the ice. Sinterklaas’ helpers were on hand to teach the kids how to skate.

In the next few weeks, kids from other junior schools will come ice skating here too!

Until the end of January, everyone who loves skating is welcome to come and use the rink for free. Hot chocolate, freshly baked doughnuts and biscuits, hot soup and alcoholic drinks are available to enjoy after your turn on the ice.
