Schiphol College launches new aviation study programmes
Since June 2010, it has been possible to enrol in the newest vocational training course at intermediate vocational education level (Dutch MBO 3), import/export air cargo employee. The study programme has been developed by Schiphol College and air cargo companies and is provided by the Regional Training Centre (ROC) of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol located in Hoofddorp.
Enrolments for the basic vocational training course (Dutch MBO 2) warehouse air cargo employee already began in January 2010. What makes these MBO study programmes unique is that they have been developed in collaboration with air cargo companies operating at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The logistics and documentation of the air cargo process are important components of the study programme. These study programmes are also the only ones in the Netherlands that offer information on the guidelines and regulations in the Aviation Act and of the Inspectorate for Transport, Public Works and Water Management. The study programmes also examine the dynamics at work at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and the speed of the air cargo process. English is an important component given the international character of aviation. Arithmetic and ICT also obviously feature in the study programmes.
Schiphol College is an initiative of Schiphol Group and the Regional Training Centre of Amsterdam. For further details, visit www.schipholcollege.nl.
