E-day @ AMS big success
E-freight event E-day @ AMS was a great success. 145 attendants from all parts of the supply chain and all over the world attended the event at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Speakers came with lots of ideas and initiatives.
Important for Schiphol is the commitment on the trade lanes AMS-Sin and AMS-HKG. Air France-KLM and Cathay Pacific committed to start with E-airwaybill shipments as of Q1 2011, and other initiatives are on the way. Russian homecarrier VolgaDjepr/Airbridge, attending with four people, showed their interest in e-freight and intends to implement e-freight on their trade lane.
Steps
Saskia van Pelt, program manager E-freight of Schiphol, got a lot of positive feedback: “The most precious quote I heard was ‘what a perfect timing; I will definitely talk about the implementation of e-freight with my customers during the Air Cargo Forum’”, Saskia says. “I think we made big steps at this event, e-freight gets more and more attention. Now let’s start shipping paperless!” .
