Schiphol wins Canadian Agent Choice Award
Schiphol grabbed the top spot in the Canadian Agent Choice Award for the category international airports. This is the 6th time in a row that Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has received this award. Agents contacted were effusive in their praise of Schiphol: “The staff is just amazing and the services can’t be beat,” said Wendy Nethercott of TPI and “it’s very easy to get around in, with it all being on one floor, and the signage is excellent,” said Laura Ross of CAA Travel “There is so much there, it’s hard to believe you can get through the airport easily without being overwhelmed,” she said. The canals of Amsterdam on the UNESCO World Heritage List
Amsterdam’s historic grachtengordel (literally, belt of canals) around the city’s center has been added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. For Amsterdam this is a very important nomination. From all over the world tourists come to Amsterdam to experience the unique characteristics of the canals. For a lot of tourists the canals are just a typical for Holland as tulips and wind mills. As a spokeswoman of the city of Amsterdam said: ‘It’s a compliment for the way we had our town planning in the past and manage the canals in the present.’
