Solutions
We have addressed the following questions:
In what area should we focus our search for solutions? We could opt for maximum automation of checks. But would that be sufficiently effective? Shouldn't we also reorganise our processes? Should we think more in terms of the passenger rather than the process or the procedure? Solutions can be found in various areas. Apart from the seven requirements, we have therefore also formulated six solution approaches or 'programme lines':
- Automation
For instance, automatic detection of prohibited items and suspicious persons - Technological innovation
The development of applicable new technologies - Process optimisation
Organising processes more efficiently - Integration
The integration or centralisation of the elements involved in the security process - Passenger Experience
A consistent and powerful experience that matches the ambition of Europe’s Preferred Airport. Schiphol also wants its security processes to be as unintrusive as possible - Differentiation
More efficient, more customer-friendly and/or more effective checks on registered customer groups - Reduction
To take security checks back to the essence: to check only the required passengers, staff and baggage and to direct checks towards actual threats
