Schiphol Real Estate delivers "TransPort" sustainable office building
Today Schiphol Real Estate delivered the TransPort office building, situated at Schiphol East. TransPort is the first office building in the Netherlands to fully comply with BREEAM-NL New Buildings, the new assessment tool of the Dutch Green Building Council for sustainable construction. Additionally, TransPort was developed to meet the highest requirements with respect to sustainable construction imposed by the internationally acclaimed LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certificate.
TransPort has a lettable floor area of 10,800m2 and has been leased to two airlines, transavia.com and Martinair, who will be establishing their head office in the building. Construction commenced on 17 March 2009. The sustainable concept and architectonic design were developed in collaboration with the Amsterdam architectural firm Paul de Ruiter. Construction was carried out by the De Vries and Verburg building firm of Stolwijk.
The sustainable building fits in perfectly with Schiphol Real Estate and Schiphol Group's strategy to play an active part in the development of sustainable real estate and area development.
