Tax-free legislation

Duty-free shopping for travellers within the European Union was abolished in 1999, but See Buy Fly still offers this benefit. As a result, you can still go shopping and benefit from duty-free prices before your departure - irrespective of your destination! The only exception applies to alcohol and tobacco. If you fly to a destination within the European Union (and don?t travel on to a country outside the European Union within the next 24 hours), you will still have to pay the tax and duties on alcohol and tobacco (at the regular retail rates).

In short: all flying passengers, irrespective of their destination, can buy items at See Buy Fly at prices that would apply if they flew to destinations outside the European Union (with the exception of alcohol and tobacco products).

The following countries are Member States of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgary, Cyprus (Greek part), Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. An exception applies to the Channel Islands and the Canary Islands: if you fly to these destinations, you also buy alcohol and tobacco products duty free.

Note that if you return to the Netherlands from a country outside the European Union, you will always be subject to the rules that apply to the import of goods from non-EU countries (only part of which is duty-free). This means that you should be aware of the import regulations that apply in the country of destination, also when you return to the Netherlands.
