Odd size baggage

You may wish to bring along an item of baggage that simply does not fit in a suitcase, such as a bicycle, musical instrument or other large item. You can transport such items to your destination on the same flight. Each airline applies its own specific rate for odd size baggage.

Special odd size baggage rates
Some airlines will allow you to bring odd size baggage on board free of charge. In most cases, however, you will be required to pay a special fee. These fees depend on the weight and size of the item in question, and the type of flight you are on. Ask your airline about the preconditions for bringing along odd size baggage in advance.

Shipping odd size baggage as air cargo
If you are looking for a cheap way to transport a bicycle, musical instrument or other odd size baggage item, you can also opt to have your baggage shipped as air cargo. In many cases, this will be a lot cheaper than bringing the items along on your own flight. For more information, contact your airline, travel agent or Worldwide Baggage Services.
