Terms and conditions - Parking
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol ("SNBV") has a number of car parks in which travellers can park their vehicles for shorter or longer periods of time in return for payment of the applicable parking fee (per hour or per day).
SNBV is giving travellers the opportunity to use a new parking facility. Through the SNBV website, the traveller can reserve a parking place in this facility for the period requested by him in advance. If the traveller reserves a space at least one month before the requested period commences, he will be eligible for a reduced parking fee. If the traveller reserves a space within one week of the start date of the period, the normal parking fee will apply. To make use of this parking facility, the traveller must enter the date on which he will park the vehicle as well as the date on which he will exit the car park into the reservation system in advance.
The general terms and conditions apply to this form of service from SNBV, which is available exclusively through its website. The booking conditions do not apply to SNBV services obtained through other pages on its website, such as the See Buy Fly pages, Travelport, etc.
Article 1 - Definitions
1.1 SNBV: Schiphol Nederland B.V., located at Evert van Beekstraat 202, Luchthaven Schiphol, Haarlemmmermeer, The Netherlands.
1.2 SNBV website: the website run by SNBV on the Internet, with the address www.schiphol.nl
1.3 Traveller: the natural person who makes a reservation for the parking facility through the SNBV website.
1.4 Parking period: the period indicated by the traveller in his reservation beforehand, during which the traveller will park his car. This consists of the period between the start date (including this date) and the finish date (including this date) of parking.
Article 2 - The parking facility
2.1 The traveller can reserve a parking place by making a booking through the SNBV website, in which the exact Parking Period must be indicated.
2.2 The booking entitles the traveller to park his vehicle only in car park P3/P3E on the airport site. The parking service explicitly does not apply to other car parks on the airport site.
2.3 A limited number of parking spaces have been reserved in P3/P3E for this parking facility. SNBV has the right to turn down a booking if that number of parking spaces have already been reserved by third parties.
Article 3 - Reservation and cancellation
3.1 The traveller can only make reservations for the parking facility by completing the booking form on the SNBV website.
3.2 The traveller can make a booking for SCHIPHOL SMART PARKING for the parking facility in question through the SNBV website no less than 7 days before the start date of the Parking Period. Bookings made less than one week before the start date of the Parking Period do not entitle the traveller to a reduced parking fee.
Bookings for reserved parking can be made up to 1 day before the start date of the Parking Period. For reserved parking the normal drive up tariff is applicable.
3.3 The booking is subject to availability of the parking places designated for the parking facility. If the parking facility turns out not to be available (any longer), SNBV will not accept the booking and will inform the traveller of this as soon as possible.
3.4 The traveller must enter the start date and finish date of the Parking Period in the reservation form. Once the traveller has made his choice, he will be shown a specification accompanied by the total price. Then, the traveller will be asked whether he wants to proceed to the electronic payment facility to pay for the booking. If the traveller then clicks on the button to proceed with the payment, the agreement with SNBV will be formed, and the traveller will be bound towards SNBV with regard to the reservation he has made.
3.5 Once the reservation or booking has been finalised, SNBV will confirm it by means of an e-mail message sent to the e-mail address entered by the traveller. The confirmation is proof of the existence and content of the agreement.
3.6 Once a reservation has been finalised, it is not possible to change it (in terms of content).
3.7 The traveller can amend or cancel their booking at
www.schiphol.nl/managemybooking
Reservations made before march 15, 2010 can be cancelled up to 2 days before departure. Amendments can be made free of charge.
For reservations made from 15 march 2010 and onwards: in the event of cancellation for Schiphol SMART parking up to 7 days before the start date of the Parking Period, the parking fee due, less an amount of EUR 10 for administration costs, will be refunded to the traveller's (creditcard/bank) account. In the event of a cancellation within 7 days before the start date of the Parking Period, the parking fee due will not be refunded. If the traveler amends the booking for Schiphol Smart Parking an amendment fee of EUR7,50 will be charged.
In the event of cancellation for Park & Travel 3-Reserved Parking up to one day before the start date of the Parking Period, the parking fee due, less an amount of EUR 5 for administration costs, will be refunded to the traveller's (creditcard/bank) account. In the event of a cancellation within 24 hours before the start date of the Parking Period, the parking fee due will not be refunded.
In the event of cancellation for reserved parking no less than 24 hours before the start date of the Parking Period, the parking fee due, less an amount of EUR 10 for administration costs, will be refunded to the traveller's (creditcard/bank) account. In the event of a cancellation within 24 hours before the start date of the Parking Period, the parking fee due will not be refunded.
Article 4 - Parking costs
4.1 The traveller can only pay the parking fee due by making a payment with a valid credit card through the electronic payment facility. By approving the payment in the electronic payment facility, the traveller explicitly agrees to have the parking fee due deducted from his credit card account.
4.2 If the credit card payment is refused by the electronic payment facility, the booking will not be made. The traveller will be informed of this either immediately while trying to make the booking, or shortly thereafter.
4.3 It is not possible to pay for a number of overlapping Parking Periods with a valid credit card.
4.4 It is not possible to pay for more than one (1) vehicle per Parking Period or overlapping Parking Periods with a valid credit card.
4.5 The parking costs are listed on the SNBV website. SNBV reserves the right to make interim price adjustments. In the event of an interim price adjustment, SNBV will announce this on the SNBV website. An interim adjustment that occurs after the traveller has finalised the booking and before the start date of the Parking Period will not affect the parking costs for that booking.
Article 5 - Parking
5.1 When driving into and leaving the car park, the traveller must insert the credit card used to make the payment into the slot of the barrier system. The credit card details will then be checked. If the details are correct, the barrier will be opened.
5.2 It is possible to use the credit card to enter the car park on an earlier or later date than the start date, or to exit the car park on an earlier or later date than the finish date of the Parking Period. However, the following rules will apply in that case.
5.3 If the traveller enters the car park on an earlier date than the start date of the Parking Period, he will have to pay the applicable parking fee for the days up to the start of the Parking Period. This amount is indivisible, meaning that it will not be split according to half-days or other units of time. The traveller must pay amount charged for the time exceeding the Parking Period separately according to the method indicated there.
5.4 If the traveller enters the car park on a later date than the start date of the Parking Period, it does not affect the finish date of the Parking Period: the finish date will remain unchanged. Furthermore, the traveller is not entitled to a refund of any part of the parking costs paid.
5.5 If the traveller exits the car park with his vehicle on an earlier date than the finish date of the Parking Period, the Parking Period will end as of the date on which the traveller actually exits the car park with his vehicle. It is not possible to exit and re-enter the car park during the Parking Period: as soon as the traveller exits the car park with his vehicle, the Parking Period will terminate automatically. The traveller is not entitled to a refund of any part of the parking costs paid.
5.6 If the traveller in case of Schiphol SMART Parking exits the car park on a later date than the finish date of the Parking Period, he will be charged Euro 10 for each day that he exceeds the Parking Period. This amount is indivisible, meaning that it will not be split according to half-days or other units of time. The traveller must pay the amount charged for the excess separately according to the method indicated there.
If the traveller in case of reserved parking exits the car park on a later date than the finish date of the Parking Period, he will be the regular parking fee for an extra day for each day that he exceeds the Parking Period. This amount is indivisible, meaning that it will not be split according to half-days or other units of time. The traveller must pay the amount charged for the excess separately according to the method indicated there.
5.7 If the traveller enters the car park on an earlier date than the start date of the Parking Period and also exits the car park on a later date than the finish date of the Parking Period, the traveller must pay the full parking fee for the period between the earlier start date and the later finish date. The registration system will then be unable to recognise the previously defined Parking Period. In that case, the traveller cannot rely on setoff of the parking fee due with the parking costs paid within the framework of the electronic booking in accordance with Article 4, nor a refund of the parking costs paid within the framework of the electronic booking in accordance with Article 4.
Article 6 - Liability
6.1 SNBV accepts no liability for damage caused to the vehicle during the period in which the vehicle is parked in the car park. Parking is at the traveller's own risk.
6.2 SNBV accepts no liability for any damage sustained by the traveller as a result of the performance of this agreement, unless the damage has resulted from an attributable failing by SNBV. In that case, SNBV's liability is limited to a maximum of 25% of the parking costs due by the traveller in accordance with Article 4.
6.3 SNBV accepts not responsibility for any promises made by its staff and/or third parties, which deviate recognisably from these terms and conditions, unless such promises are confirmed afterwards in writing.
6.4 The exclusions and limitations of liability contained in this article also apply with regard to the staff of SNBV and/or third parties engaged by it.
Article 7 - Disputes
7.1 All disputes between SNBV and the traveller will be governed by Dutch law. The Court of Haarlem has exclusive jurisdiction to hear these disputes.
7.2 All rights of action will expire one year after the end of the reserved service (or, if the trip did not take place, one year after the original departure date), or one year after the service if the complaint relates to the service provided by SNBV.
Article 8 - Personal data
8.1 SNBV collects the personal data entered by the traveller on the personal data page, as well as data on his clicking and surfing behaviour and transactions through this website. SNBV has exclusive access to the aforementioned data. The statutory regulations as laid down in the Personal Data Files Act and the Personal Data Protection Act are observed by SNBV. The customer file is registered with the Data Protection Authority, under number P-0022052.
8.2 The traveller's data are stored in a customer file and used for processing the booking, including the payment and customer service. SNBV also uses the data to analyse the travellers clicking and surfing behaviour and transactions in order to compile customer profiles. SNBV uses these profiles to expand its range of products and services on this site, and to be able to offer the traveller tailor-made offers from SNBV's total range of products and services. At the request of third parties within Schiphol Group, SNBV can conduct marketing campaigns with the traveller's address details. The traveller's address details can be used for a mailing from the different service providers no more than twice a year, whereby SNBV has exclusive access to the personal data.
8.3 If the traveller objects to the collection and analysis of his details so that SNBV can send him tailor-made offers, he can inform SNBV of this by sending an e-mail to info@schiphol.nl. The traveller can also use this e-mail address should he wish to have his details removed from SNBV's files.
