For how long is the Schiphol Pass valid?
The Schiphol Pass is issued for the duration of the work-related activities and is valid for a maximum period of five years. The Schiphol Pass for temporary employees is valid for a maximum period of six months.
Where do I collect a Schiphol Pass or Day Pass?
What do I need to do if I change employers?
If you will work in protected areas you will need to request a new Certificate of No Objection [Verklaring van Geen Bezwaar, VGB] from the Dutch Border Police. To apply, either call +31 (0)20 603 8821 or visit the AIVD website.
Report to the Badge Centre with the following items:
- A completed Schiphol Pass application form signed by an authorised signatory of your new employer and if necessary the necessary principal. Please note: the pass holder’s job title must match the job title listed in the job matrix for the employer/principal in question.
- A valid form of identification; specifically either a passport or a national identity card. Please note: a driver’s license is not considered a valid form of identification at Schiphol! If you are not a Dutch citizen, you will need to also bring a valid residency permit in addition to your passport.
- Your old Schiphol Pass.
How can I add a second and, if necessary, a third employer/principal to my current pass?
Complete the Schiphol Pass application form and have it signed by an authorised signatory of your second employer/principal. Depending on the position, you may be required to complete a Security Awareness and/or Airside Safety Test. To find out, please contact your second employer.
Report to the Badge Centre to add the second employer/principal to your pass. Be sure to bring the following obligatory items:
- Your current Schiphol Pass
- The original, complete and correctly filled-out application form signed by your second employer. The form must not contain any deletions (including those by correction fluid etc.)
- Proof of identification (a valid passport or national identity card. If you are not a Dutch citizen, you will need to also bring a valid residency permit in addition to your passport).
What do I do with my Schiphol Pass if I leave my job?
We would prefer you to return your Schiphol Pass in person to the Badge Centre as you will then be issued proof of receipt to give to your employer. You might decide to send the pass by mail or have someone else return it, but in that case you will not receive a proof of receipt. This could work to your disadvantage if later there are any doubts about whether or not you returned your pass.
What do I do if my Schiphol Pass / Parking Pass is stolen or lost?
It is important to act QUICKLY. Take the following steps:
- First, your pass must be blocked immediately. To do so during office hours, phone the Badge Centre on +31 (0)20 601 2626. Outside office hours you should phone the Duty Manager for Security on +31 (0)20 601 3000.
- Inform your employer as soon as possible during office hours.
- Had your pass expired? If so, apply for a new pass according to the regular procedure. A charge of EUR 50 will apply.
- Was your pass still valid? If so, report to the reception desk at the Badge Centre with your valid passport or national identity card. A new pass will be issued. A charge of EUR 50 will apply.
- Did you lose your pass? If so, you must file a lost property report at the police station at Schiphol Plaza before you can receive a new pass.
An administrative fee will be charged for every lost or stolen pass. The amount due must be paid at the desk.
My Schiphol Pass was confiscated; how do I get it back?
If your Schiphol Pass was confiscated by an airport official it will not be returned automatically and you will have to inform your employer. The Security Adviser at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol will contact your employer, too. The necessary action will be decided by way of either an administrative settlement or a decision by the Sanctioning Committee.
